Muhd Zulfaqar Farhan Graduates with Honours, Continues Master’s Studies

GOMBAK, 11 December 2025: At the sixth session of the 41st IIUM Convocation Ceremony, Muhd Zulfaqar Farhan bin Zamani, who graduated with a Bachelor of Political Science with Honours on 9 December 2025, is now furthering his academic journey by pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science. He is expected to graduate next year.

Although he initially planned to graduate later, Zulfaqar shared that adjustments made by his department helped him complete his studies earlier than expected.

He described his journey as challenging but rewarding, especially after navigating the academic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He credited his success to strong family support, particularly from his parents and siblings, who continuously motivated him throughout his studies and personal growth.

“It was very tough for me, but I feel very successful and proud because my parents were always supportive,” he said.

In addition to celebrating his academic achievement, Zulfaqar also played an active role as a convocation committee member for the second time, assisting in the organisation and smooth running of the graduation ceremony. He highlighted that student involvement in major university events builds responsibility, discipline, and leadership qualities.

He explained that one of his main challenges was managing time between his postgraduate studies and committee responsibilities. However, he believes that maintaining a positive mindset and strong time management skills makes such balancing possible.

“If you have a good mindset and good time management, Insha’Allah, you can do everything,” he added.

Zulfaqar also encouraged students to continuously seek knowledge and self-improve. He believes that education is a lifelong process that shapes critical thinking, character, and contribution to society and the ummah.

His journey reflects the resilience and dedication of IIUM students, proving that academic achievement can go hand in hand with leadership and service. ***
