Her award-winning research focused on profiling cochlear implant (CI) that demanded reviewing medical records, reach out professionals involved in each case as well as cross examine data to ensure accuracy.

“It was a lot of work, but the experience definitely taught me valuable skills in attention to detail and persistence”, she explained.

“My greatest source of motivation comes first and foremost from Allah SWT. In the face of every challenge, I am reminded of His beautiful promise in Surah Al-Inshirah (94:6): ‘Indeed, with hardship comes ease’,”she shared.

She also acknowledged the constant support she received from her family, particularly her mother.

Reflecting back at her years in IIUM, Hannan said that exhibiting professionalism in health field based on compassion, integrity and ethical responsibility is important.

“Beyond academics, IIUM nurtured in me the qualities of a better khalifah, encouraging me to serve humanity with sincerity, stewardship, and humility. This holistic education has shaped me not only as a future audiologist but as a dedicated guardian of wellbeing and trust”, she further added.

In her concluding remarks, to the struggling students, Hannan gave a heartfelt advice of not losing hope no matter what comes their way, trusting yourself and believing that Allah’s mercy and wisdom is always with them.

“You are stronger than you think, and every challenge is just a step toward your growth. It’s okay to ask for help and take care of yourself along the way. Keep your goals close to your heart, be patient, and take things one day at a time. You will overcome this, and brighter days are ahead,” she advised.***
