GOMBAK, 7 November 2025: The Representative of Alumni in IIUM Board of Governors, His Excellency Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano urged the graduates to foster unity wherever their paths may lead.
His Excellency Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Dr. Koutoub delivered a remarkable speech and conferred the degrees of the graduates from Kulliyyah of Economy and Management Sciences (KENMS) and Kulliyyah of Dentistry in the third session of the 41st IIUM Convocation Ceremony at the Main Hall of IIUM Cultural Hall (ICC), IIUM Gombak campus.
Throughout his speech, His Excellency Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Dr. Koutoub charmed the crowd with multiple Malay proverbs.”‘Hujang emas di negeri orang, hujang batu di negeri sendiri’. It remind us that no matter where our journeys may lead, loyalty to our creator, our faith, our countries, our ummah, and our institutions, this loyalty remains a noble virtue”, he delightfully remarked.
He also stressed on the importance and responsibilities of each Kulliyyah.
“In a world shaped by capitalistic excess, resource depletion and widening inequalities, you are called to restore balance and fairness,” he emphasised towards graduates from KENMS.
His Excellency Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Dr. Koutoub reminded that graduates from Kulliyyah of Dentistry was taught more than clinical excellence in IIUM.
“The ummah and the world need healers whose hands treat, whose words comfort, whose character inspire,” he conveyed.***
