GOMBAK, 8 December 2025: Ahmad Widad bin Zainoddin and his wife Hanna Humaira’ binti Azmi Al’Alwi are having a double celebration at the IIUM 41st Convocation Ceremony.
Ahmad Widad, a graduate from the Kulliyyah of Education (KOED), received his Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling in the second session of the ceremony on 7 December, while Hanna Humaira’ will receive her Bachelor of Engineering (Biochemical-Biotechnology) scroll in the fifth session on 8 December.
Ahmad and Hanna Humaira’ will also celebrate their second wedding anniversary this coming February.
Ahmad explained that his decision to marry while still studying was inspired by a spiritual calling during Ramadan 2023. He also expressed gratitude for his wife’s support and understanding, which helped him balance his studies with married life.
He further explained that his motivation for pursuing a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling at the Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) stemmed from a desire to enhance his ability to assist others in finding solutions to their problems. He described this as a sincere effort to contribute to the ummah and uphold the values of ukhuwwah (brotherhood).
“It is natural to feel concerned, as marriage is a serious matter that comes with many responsibilities and challenges. Always seek guidance from Allah with a sincere and fully submitted heart, and consult those whom you trust to provide sound advice. If, after careful consideration, you feel confident in your decision to marry, plan carefully and place full trust (tawakkul) in Allah SWT,” Ahmad advised students who wish to marry but are worried that marriage may interfere with their studies.
He reflected his trust in Allah by citing the Qur’anic verse: “…and put your trust in Allah. And Allah loves those who rely upon Him” (Surah Al-Imran 3:159).***
