GOMBAK, 6 December 2025: A graduand from the Bachelor in Mechatronics Engineering (Hons.), Hanis binti Mohd Izani, was awarded the Royal Education Awards.
She shared her inspiring journey after receiving her award at the first session of the 41st IIUM Convocation Ceremony at the Main Hall of IIUM Cultural Hall (ICC), IIUM Gombak campus.
Her inspiring journey started when she entered the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) IIUM as early as 17 years old. She then shared about being actively involved in sports for Karate martial art, representing IIUM Mustang. Her love for cats is what moved her to be part of Abu Hurairah Club in doing part of community service.
“My source of motivation would be, I like to see myself as someone who contributes back and leaves an impact on society, and that image of me is always at the back of my mind,” said Hanis.
Hanis added that for every semester, she will not allow her grade to be below 3.80 GPA.
She continued that every night, she wakes up and prays for Tahajjud to ask from The Almighty for her dreams.
“One thing that I consistently did from my high school days until now was to wake up for Tahajjud. It’s something I consistently do. Every time I make a prayer during Tahajjud, I see what I want, and then I believe that I would get that, then Allah somehow grants it for me.”***
