442 Graduates Receive Degrees at the First Session of 41st IIUM Convocation Ceremony

GOMBAK, 6 December 2025: A total of 442 graduates received their scrolls from Her Royal Highness the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al Haj, the constitutional head of IIUM in the first session of the 41st IIUM Convocation ceremony.

The ceremony took place on 6 December at main hall ICC, IIUM.

The session commenced with the opening declaration by Her Royal Highness The Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Constitutional Head of IIUM, followed by the speech of Honorable President of IIUM, Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, and then the royal address delivered by Her Royal Highness.

The session witnessed the conferral of Doctor of Philosophy to graduates from various Kulliyahs and study centres namely Kulliyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, International Institute for Halal Research and Training, International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation, Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design, Kulliyyah of Dentistry, Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, Kulliyyah of Education, Kulliyyah of Engineering, Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology, Kulliyyah of Medicine, Kulliyyah of Nursing, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy and Kulliyyah of Science.

Some students also received their scrolls for their Master’s degree from Kulliyah of Medicine and others for their Bachelor’s Degrees (Honours) from Kulliyah of Pharmacy.

In the session, Prof. Dr. Nor Faridah Abdul Manaf was conferred the title of Professor Emerita by Her Royal Highness in recognition of her exemplary service and ongoing contributions to the academic field.

Several awards were also presented to students for their academic and co-curricular achievements.

Among the awards presented to students included the Royal Education Award presented to Hanis Mohd Izani and Nik Ahmad Farhan Nik Mahmood Farid, both from the Kulliyyah of Engineering, Best Overall Student Award to Iftikhar Jamil Fuad from Kulliyah of AHAS IRKHS, President’s Award to Nur Farisah Irdina Binti Abdul Razak form Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, Rector’s Award to Nur Hafizah Binti Shahril from Kulliyah of IRKHS.

Muhammad Faris bin Noor Faisal from AHAS IRKHS was awarded with Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud Best Ḥāfiẓ Award.

Abdullah ibn al-Jazarī Best Ḥāfiẓah Award went to Ainul Mursyidah binti Khairul Azhar and the Budi Award was presented to Nur Maisarah Kamalhisham from AHAS IRKHS.

Several PhD graduates were also honoured with Kulliyyah-level awards award for their academic achievements, including Bilal Hussain from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, Ummu Salma al Azizah from Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Illahibaccus Sona Shaima Banu from Kulliyyah of Education, Nur Farhana binti Mohammad Zainol from Kulliyyah of AHAS IRKHS, and Khairiah binti Razali from Kulliyyah of Medicine.

Nurdeen Hannani binti Mohd Pazli from the Kulliyah of Pharmacy received the Best Academic Student Award in the category of Kulliyyah-level awards.

The ceremony also featured a valedictorian speech delivered by Dr. Maryam Syahidah Azalan, a graduate from the Kulliyah of Allied Health Sciences.***
