GOMBAK, 11 November 2025: The students of IIUM Gombak Campus today were greeted by massive banners at the central building.
Its appearance marked an announcement of the upcoming IIUM Student Union election.
On 8 November, the IIUM Election Commission announced the candidates running for the presidential seat of the IIUMSU.
The banners sparked curiosity and mixed reactions among students.
Many students were stunned and shared their reactions online.
The banners are taking over IIUM Central Buildings
“The banner is way too big, not even to be noticed” – a comment on TikTok made by a student attaching the picture of the banner.
IIUM campus election is one of the most anticipated student events every year due to its long-standing practice of student unionism.
Beyond electing representatives, this election serves as a platform in shaping discourse around student welfare, policies and the university’s direction.
The appearance of campign flyers and posters around campus has also raised students’ awareness of the election.
It is hoped that the candidates uphold ethics, integrity, and virtuous conduct throughout their campaigns, thereby fostering a constructive campus political environment.***
