GOMBAK, 6 November 2025: The Omani Research and Studies Centre, in collaboration with the AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), successfully organised a dynamic cultural event known as Layla Thaqafiyyah.
This celebration took place during the inaugural Al-Multaqa Al-Omani at the Main Hall of the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) on 6 November 2025, from 9pm to 11pm.
Muhammad Al-Wahabi from Oman led the opening performance with a rendition of the renowned song “Qalbi Fil Madinah”.

IIUM Mustangs Pencak Silat showcase fighting scenes using various weapons.
As the excitement built, the IIUM Mustangs Pencak Silat team delivered a Silat performance. They showcased their mastery of various weapons, including keris and a knife. A standout moment came when one of the sisters executed a solo dance with her weapon, followed by dynamic fighting scenes.
The cultural night continued with a commanding solo performance by Iman Muath Al-Musharfi from Oman, singing “Akhi Anta Khurrun”. The atmosphere was lively as the audience actively joined in to sing along with the performer.
The event continued a dhikir barat performance, featuring seven brothers who formed a circle and clapped their hands, while one brother led the singing.
Simfoni Arkana, the Malaysian champion of Dai Voice ASEAN 2025, captivated the audience as they delivered two English songs accompanied by beatboxing. They concluded their performance with “Adiwira,” a song requested by the audience.
Layla Thaqafiyyah concluded the cultural night with a solo performance by Al-Wahaibi.***
