From August to October, the Kelab Debat Bahasa Melayu (KDBM) of IWON Pagoh has been remarkably active, marking one of its busiest seasons yet with an impressive streak of national-level participations and achievements across various oratory platforms.
August–September: Merdeka Spirit in Full Voice
Between 15 August and 13 September, two speakers, Br Imran Husaini bin Mazlan and Br Muhammad Hanif bin Naim proudly represented the club in the Pidato Mahasiswa Merdeka: Menjulang Perpaduan, Menyantuni Bangsa competition organized by Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Their participation at the national level symbolized the club’s continuous commitment to nurturing patriotic orators who speak for unity and compassion.
September 18: A Triumphant Return
On 18 September, four talented speakers which were Sr. Aisyah Azhar, Sr. Nurulhuda Husna binti Wan Mohd Rafi, Sr. Ruzana binti Mohd Rukman, and Sr. Nurul Murfiqah competed in the Pertandingan Syarahan Perdana Penghayatan Membangun Bersama Islam (PMBI) 2025, also at the national level. This year’s participation marked a significant comeback for the club, after no qualifiers in the previous edition, Sr. Siti Aisyah binti Azhar proudly secured third place among 46 participants, reflecting both resilience and growth in the team’s preparation.
September 20: Powerful Words, United Voices
Just two days later, on 20 September, another team of three, Br. Muhammad Hafiz Zhafri bin Abd Kamal, Br. Imran Husaini bin Mazlan, and Sr. Nur Irdina binti Hamka, carried the IWON Pagoh’s name at the Interactive Speech Competition of the IPT Language Festival 2025, jointly organized by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) and UiTM. Competing at the national stage, the trio demonstrated their versatility and courage in embracing diverse speaking formats.
October 13–15: Forum Excellence in Perak
Continuing the momentum, a new set of speakers, Br. Muhammad Musyrif bin Mahadi, Sr. Noor Hasyimah binti Halil, Siti Aisyah binti Azhar, Sr. Nur Irdina binti Hamka, and Nik Ahmad Afiq Isra bin Nik Muhamad Norisam took part in the Forum Piala Menteri Besar Perak 2025, held from 13 to 15 October. Although this was the second year competing, the 2025 edition saw an entirely new lineup with limited training time. Despite the challenges, among all 33 teams, they still delivered an impressive performance at the national level, maintaining the club’s strong reputation for excellence and adaptability.
August–October: The Endless Hope for Grand Finale of Pidato Piala Belia
From 18 August to 20 October, six representatives which are Br. Muhammad Hanif Bin Naim, Br. Muhammad Hafiz Zhafri Bin Abd Kamal, Br. Imran Husaini bin Mazlan, Br. Muhammad Nazim bin Mohamad Nafi, Sr. Nur Irdina binti Hamka, and Sr. Farah Ainin Sofiya binti Azizan, have been actively participating in the Pertandingan Pidato Piala Belia Gerakan Belia 4B Malaysia Peringkat Kebangsaan Kali ke-3 (2025), hosted by the State of Terengganu. As the competition enters its final submission stage on 20th October, the club invites everyone to pray for their success as they compete among Malaysia’s finest young orators.
A Journey of Voices and Vision
The past few months have proven that the Kelab Debat Bahasa Melayu of IWON Pagoh is more than just a debating society, yet it is a family of passionate thinkers, eloquent speakers, and determined learners. With every stage conquered, from UPSI to DBP to Perak and beyond, these students continue to embody the spirit of knowledge, virtue, and da’wah through the power of the Malay language. As October closes soon, one thing remains clear: the voices of IWON Pagoh’s debaters are not just being heard but they are making history.***
