GOMBAK, 30 October 2025: This year, KAEDFEST 2025 held an exhibition titled “Ruang Inspirasi KAED” at the main entrance of the Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) Building.
This exhibition, held from 21 until 26 October, showcased a variety of projects and models by the students.
According to Muhammad Naqib Iman Mohd Nasarudin, the President of Archimic Student Society, people often assume students from KAED only study architecture. “The concept of this exhibition is just to show what KAED is all about. It is to show that all professions and specialisations in KAED matter”, he mentioned.
The projects and models in the exhibition were mostly academic assignments from first year students to final year students.
“This model is one of the examples from the Heritage Conservation & Technologies major. They traced the old sculpture onto the plaster of paris. Sometimes the old sculptures will corrode. As a result, they will retrace and recreate the sculptures so it can be exhibited in museums,” said Mohamed Shameel as he showed the plaster of paris model.

Liya Zafirah Mohamad Azrul from Urban and Regional Planning stated that the exhibited projects included a township simulation and several 3D models.

Apart from assigned assessments, there were also award-winning projects created by the students.
“Recently, we joined the Planning Student Assembly (PSA) 2025. All Urban & Regional Planning students gathered in one place. This year, it was held at UiTM Puncak Alam. IIUM students managed to win an award”, shared Liya Zafirah.
Muhamad Danial Amsyar, one of the presenters , explained that every year students from the Department of Architecture will join events and competitions held for every architecture student in Malaysia. One of the events held by Malaysian Institute of Architecture (PAM) is PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition (PAASWE) 2025.
”There were so many competitions for everything. There were competitions for installations, fashion and banners. The theme was based on nusantara elements”, said Muhamad Danial Amsyar. Apart from banner competition, they also won awards for their sculptures.***
