Pagoh, October 2025 – IIUM Pagoh proudly celebrates the success of one of its postgraduate students who achieved national recognition in the Pertandingan Digitalisasi Puisi: Pentas Sajak Maya 2025. The competition, themed “Dari Pena Sasterawan ke Dunia Maya”, was recently concluded with overwhelming participation and creativity showcased by young poets across Malaysia.
In the Higher Learning Institution Category, Muhammad Hanif bin Naim, a PhD candidate from the Department of Arabic Language, Kulliyyah of Sustainable Tourism and Contemporary Languages (KSTCL), IIUM Pagoh, was awarded Second Place (Naib Johan). His performance stood out among strong competitors from various institutions, earning him a prestigious spot among the top winners.
The competition also featured categories for secondary school students, as well as a special award for the most viral poem, which garnered over 20,000 views and 10,000 likes online. The digital platform of the competition provided a creative space for participants to bring classical Malay literary traditions into the modern age, connecting timeless poetry with contemporary audiences.
The achievement of Muhammad Hanif reflects not only his individual dedication and literary talent but also IIUM Pagoh’s ongoing commitment to nurturing intellectual, cultural, and creative excellence. This milestone is expected to inspire more students to actively engage in national literary competitions, further strengthening the university’s presence in the field of arts and humanities.
