IWON Pagoh Shines in Kem Orang Muda Madani Hujung Medini 2025

Kulai, September 26–28, 2025 – Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Wilayah Selatan (DBPWS) in collaboration with Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) Negeri Johor successfully hosted Kem Orang Muda Madani Hujung Medini 2025 at the Pusat Latihan Kenegaraan Gunung Pulai, Johor. The three-day programme gathered about 65 participants from several higher learning institutions, including IIUM Pagoh, KKTM Sri Gading, Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (KYPJ), and Kolej Universiti Islam Johor Sultan Ibrahim (KUIJSI), formerly known as MARSAH.

IIUM Pagoh, represented by the IWON Pagoh, sent 13 students to the camp. They were: Br. Muhammad Hanif Bin Naim, Br. Muhammad Hafiz Zhafri bin Abd Kamal, Br. Muhammad Najwan bin Nur Azmal, Br. Muhammad Firdaus bin Mohd Sulaiman, Sr. Nur Adilah binti Selamat, Sr. Nurhafizah Mashitha Kholish, Sr. Noor Azza Aina binti Mohd Zaki, Sr. Wan Eymeela Madihah binti Wan Saiful Arini, Sr. Nurul Akma binti Johari, Sr. Noor Hasyimah binti Halil, Sr. Nuris Syamimi binti Nazri, Sr. Noor Addina Kamarudin and Sr. Shakilla Alisa binti Shuaizat. 

The delegation departed from Pagoh at 8.30 a.m. and became the earliest contingent to arrive at the training centre. The programme commenced with a short briefing session, followed by lunch and an ice-breaking activity that divided participants into groups. These activities allowed the participants to bond quickly and set the tone for the rest of the camp. 

During the selection of camp leaders, Muhammad Hafiz Zhafri bin Abd Kamal was elected as the Penghulu (camp leader), while Nurhafizah Mashitha Kholish was nominated as a candidate for Penolong Penghulu. The evening continued with a thrilling

jungle trekking session in which participants navigated the forest in pairs, testing their courage, teamwork, and trust in one another. 

The second day opened with an exploration race centred on four important themes of nationhood: Jata Negara, Perlembagaan Persekutuan, Santun Berbahasa, Citra Tokoh. The team spirit and knowledge of the participants were put to the test through a series of challenges, with Satria Muda emerging as champion, followed by Alpha Force in second place and Sigma Madani in third. Later, the participants attended a special session with two editors of Dewan Siswa magazine, Encik Rasul and Encik Abd Kadir, who shared valuable insights about publishing and the world of magazines.

In the afternoon, participants returned to the forest for another challenge, this time producing a TikTok video with the theme Voice of Nature. The activity showcased the creativity of the young participants, with Alpha Force winning first place, Blood Wolves securing second place, and Nujum Mustaqbal coming in third. The evening culminated with Malam Apresiasi Sastera, where participants delivered cultural performances judged by invited literary experts. Sigma Madani claimed first place, Satria Muda came in second, and Setia Bakti took third place. 

On the final day, the highlight was a strategy-based game designed to strengthen teamwork and collaborative leadership. The concluding reflections were delivered by Sr. Wan Eymeela Madihah binti Wan Saiful Arini and Br. Muhammad Hafiz Zhafri bin Abd Kamal. In his closing remarks, Br Hafiz Zhafri spoke about democracy, elections, and leadership, ending with a profound reminder: “If you are looking for perfection, this world is not the place for it because perfection lies only in paradise.”

Overall, the camp proved to be a meaningful platform that nurtured leadership skills, civic responsibility, and Madani values among the younger generation. It also highlighted the active involvement of IIUM Pagoh students especially IWON Pagoh in national youth development programmes, embodying the university’s mission to cultivate leaders of tomorrow with both intellect and character.***
