The IIUM World Debate and Oratory Club (IWON) Pagoh has marked a significant month of achievements in July, making their presence felt both on the international and local stage. Representing the university in the third season of AFKAR, an ASEAN-level competition hosted online by Elkaffah Center Indonesia, IWON Pagoh delegates competed in two major categories: Public Speaking and Arabic Olympiad.
The competition, themed, “Mencetak Generasi Rabbani: Berkualitas, Cerdas, dan Integritas” was designed to cultivate youth who are intellectually sharp, ethically upright, and spiritually aware, while also reigniting appreciation for the Arabic language among learners in Southeast Asia.
IWON Pagoh rose to the occasion with notable performances: in the Khitabah category, Wildan scored an impressive 238 points, followed by Imran (212), Fatin (210), Husna (209), and Zhafri (200), competing among 136 participants internationally.
In the Olympiad category, Farhan stood out by securing 5th place with 62 points, while Alif placed 9th with 56 points, and others such as Durrani, Nusroh, Ameerul, and Hakim showed commendable efforts among 201 contestants in this international tournament. These accomplishments not only demonstrated their command of Arabic but also their ability to thrive under academic pressure in a diverse, international arena.

Back home, IWON Pagoh extended its impact by contributing to the 22nd Interschool Debate Championship (IDC) held at IIUM Gombak from 18th – 21st July 2025.
A number of students served as adjudicators, including Salsabeel, Hanif Naim, Hafiz Zhafri, Hafizah Mashitha, Nurulhuda Husna, Fatin Nadzirah, and Nuris, while many others volunteered as event committees.
Their roles demanded critical judgment, communication, and professional conduct, providing invaluable real-world experience beyond the debate podium. Collectively, these engagements reflect IWON Pagoh’s holistic approach to student development — one that balances competition with contribution, and achievement with service.
Aligned with IIUM’s mission to produce graduates who are balanced in spirit, intellect, and service to humanity, IWON Pagoh continues to cultivate confident speakers and responsible youth who embody the university’s ethos of Khalifah, Amanah, Iqra’, and Rahmatan lil-‘Alamin. IWON Pagoh is looking forward to having an endless contribution and collaboration with IWON Gombak (especially with the ADC IIUM Gombak).Name of the participants and Judges as follow,
