As U.S. bombs 3 Iranian nuclear sites what must Muslims reflect upon?

By, Md Maruf Hasan

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once advised his companion to tie his camel first and have, “Tawakkul (Trust in Allah).” In thanking US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu responded in a press conference after the joint attack on three nuclear sites in Iran that strength comes first, then peace. Then at one point he thanked the civilizational force. Muslim Ummah are yet to reach that level. They have definitely lost the Ummatic Spirit.

Trump in his today’s press conference at the White House after Iran’s deadly attack warns of great tragedy. It is unclear till now what is coming up in the near future as we hope there is no World War 3, but it is evident that Muslims need to work hard to bring back the glory of Islamic civilization. Muslim youths need to come forward for an intellectual battle at the first place and we must develop a perseverance mentality at the stage of crisis.

It is important to cite from Tehran Times as it aligns with the civilizational spirit of Muslims. Tehran Times (22 June,2025) states:

Following the brutal attacks of the Zionist enemy over the past few days, at dawn today, the country’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were attacked by the enemies of Islamic Iran in a brutal act that contradicts international law, especially the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), in which a statement reads,

“This action, contrary to international law, was unfortunately carried out in the shadow of indifference and even with the cooperation of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”

It added that the American enemy, through the President of this country, has taken the responsibility of the attack on the aforementioned sites, which are under the continuous supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, based on the Safeguards Agreement and the NPT Treaty, “The international community is expected to condemn the lawlessness based on the rules of the jungle and support Iran in achieving its legitimate rights.”

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran further assured the Iranian nation that despite the evil conspiracies of its enemies, with the efforts of thousands of its revolutionary and motivated scientists and experts, it will not allow the path of development of this national industry to be stopped, “This organization has put the necessary measures, including legal action, on its agenda to defend the rights of the noble Iranian nation.”

Israel and America are two countries and follow two different religions, yet they worked together with civilizational spirit. Muslims lost the strength, but it is not unachievable to gain strength.

We wrote an article titled, “Pessimistic Prospects of the Scientific Worldview: A Potential Islamic Defense for the Future Leadership of Muslim Youths (2024). In that article we quoted some verses which I like to mention to end this article:

[… Fear not, with a talisman around your neck, Bound by your pure Quran. We (Muslims) were never people for seeking life’s pleasures, Martyrdom was the desired joy of us, In beggar’s clothes, those (Muslims) caliphs (leaders), Ruled half the world. (Alas!) Today those (Muslims) sleep unconscious, (while) Outside, storms and hurricanes rage.]

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) started the journey alone from Makkha and we have enough human resources now compared to the early stage of Islam. It is just we need to empower us from Tawhidic Epistemology that Companions of Prophet did in the early stage of Islam. That is how Islam gave birth to a successful civilization.***
