GOMBAK, 18 December 2024: A vibrant celebration of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, named, Pesona Nusantara 2024, captivated staff and students at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak. The event, held on 24 November from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Riverside IIUM, showcased the diversity of Indonesian culture through traditional attire, music, and dance.
Over 1,300 students, representing various ethnic groups from across Indonesia, participated in the event. Dressed in their beautiful traditional costumes, they paraded along the Riverside, with their unique outfit from different regions of Indonesia. It, highlighted the details and symbolism embedded in conventional Indonesian clothing.
Beyond the visual display, the event also featured captivating performances of traditional dances and music. Talented Indonesian students showcased their artistry, transporting the audience to the heart of various Indonesian cultures.
“This event is more than just a showcase of our culture—it is a celebration of who we are as Indonesians,” said an organising committee member. “We want to share the beauty of our traditions with the world.”
Pesona Nusantara 2024 was not only a cultural extravaganza but also a platform for fostering unity and understanding among the Indonesian student community at IIUM. The event brought together students from different regions of Indonesia, strengthening their bonds and promoting intercultural exchange.
By celebrating their cultural heritage, Indonesian students at IIUM have not only enriched the campus community but also contributed to the broader understanding and appreciation of Indonesian culture.***
