GOMBAK, 13 June 2023: Keluar Sekejap Podcast had its first podcast recording outside of their studio, in IIUM Gombak campus on Thursday (8 June).
The event was organised by Wawasan Club IIUM at the Main Auditorium. According to Shahril Hamdan, this was the first live audience after 25 episodes.
Keluar Sekejap is a podcast that focused on current issues, especially in politics, that are meant to be for the general public.
œSome of our history needs to be rewritten, said Khairy Jamaluddin, the former politician now a DJ for Hot FM. One of the topics discussed during the event was regarding the history of Penang especially on how it was found.
Khairy stated that Malaysians should research again on Malaysian history as it was believed that certain facts may have been tampered with by the colonisation.
By the second half of the session, a question was asked to both guests on their advice for those who wish to be politicians.
Shahril advised the audience to have pure intention and not for the sole purpose of popularity. He added to be firm and abide by their principles. Khairy, on the other hand, said to œdiscuss this with your family. He further explained that this career can take a toll on the individual and family.
œIt takes everything from you. It robs off your peace of mind, he said.
Another interesting topic discussed was regarding mental health. Both guests said to find healthy coping mechanisms and œnot to bottle up your feelings.
