GOMBAK, 7 December 2022: The Royal Education Award winner from the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS), Siti Sarah Binti Ahmad Lutpi, emphasised in her valedictorian speech the importance of doing one’s best in everything no matter how insignificant.

“In making the world a better place, one should always strive to be the best person possible, because everything we do has a huge impact on ourselves and everyone around us, and that is how we lead the way”, she explained.

Sarah reminded the alumni that they have a larger role to play as graduates, Khalifah, and agents of change to leave positive impacts on the society, nation, and ummah.

She went on to say that the graduates as an ummah need to realize the concept of rahmatan lil-alamin. “Although we are leaving IIUM, we bring along the necessary skills we need to make the world a better place,” she added.

Sarah believed that making the world a better place presents challenges that can only be overcome by having complete faith in Allah.

She expressed profound gratitude to her parents, lecturers, and close friends for all of their help and support throughout her journey at IIUM.

Sarah ended her speech, by quoting a hadith which says, “The best of people are those who benefit many others”.***
