GOMBAK, 4 December 2022: The president of IIUM, Tan Sri Shamsuddin Osman, believed that IIUM graduands will make the nation proud in the near future.
“IIUM is a unique institution where students and professors from all over the world can gather and create a rare and unique opportunity that you can’t find in any other university in Malaysia.”
He conveyed the message in the second session of the 38th IIUM Convocation Ceremony held at the Main Hall of the Cultural Activity Centre (CAC) today.
The President emphasised that the graduands should remember all their gains from, and contributions to IIUM and be a part of the great family of over a hundred thousand alumni from over a hundred countries around the globe.
“We will continue to take pride in your future achievements as we have taken pride in your achievements thus far,” he added.
He urged graduands to always remember that honesty, sincerity, perseverance, and agility are the key to success in the world and hereafter and that corruption and malpractices can cripple society.
“Corruption and misuse of power will result in not only humiliation for wrongdoers but also suffering for others and the whole nation,” he stressed.
In the meantime, the President was also delighted to see that the graduands are ready to take up the challenge of serving and leading their respective communities equipped with knowledge of Islam and an understanding of the modern sciences.
He conveyed special thanks to the parents who have sacrificed financially, and more importantly, the love, attention, support, and du’a in order to ensure the success of their children.
“Thank you for choosing and trusting IIUM as an institution of education for us all to build the generation of leaders of our future,” he added.
The President, in his concluding remark, praised all the lecturers and staff of IIUM for doing a great job in developing the graduands into a new personality with great virtue. ***
