GOMBAK, 1 November 2022: “As a student, you are about to make one of the most important decisions of your life, which is likely to be the first step towards a successful career,” Dr Yang Chuan Choong said at the closing ceremony of The Engineering Career and Technology Festival (ENCAR).
As the Advisor of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) IIUM Student Section (IEM IIUM), Dr Yang Chuan Choong, told students to put more effort into planning their future.
The festival was a platform that provided all IIUM Engineering students with a unique opportunity for engagement, professional networking, and potential partnerships between employers and students. Dr. Yang Chuan Choong, therefore, expected that the interactions between both parties would produce beneficial results and wished all a huge success for students’ future careers and beyond.
The festival further provided students with tips on how to build and sustain effective relationships with colleagues in the working environments.
Besides, students from other departments were also welcomed to join the internship programmes offered by industrial companies to instil more functional skills.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Kulliyyah of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr Sany Izan Ihsan, anticipated more industrial companies to participate in the event and offer more job opportunities to students.
Collaborated with the Academic & Career Council ENGINIUS XXVIII, the festival managed to conduct a rewarding event for both industrial companies and students.
Organised by IEM IIUM Student Section, the festival, which started on 27 October, involved many engaging activities ranging from exhibition booths from industries, career talks, and industrial talks to job interviews.***
