KUALA LUMPUR, 24 October 2022: Students of Higher Education Institutions (IPTA) are allowed to return home and vote for the 15th General Election, Director General of Higher Education, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Husaini Bin Omar, said.

In a statement, the Higher Education Ministry agreed to provide a five-day break from 17 November for students at institutions of higher learning.

“Students should be released from 17 to 21 November 2022 to give enough time for them to make a round trip to and from the polling location,” the statement said.

This decision made by the Ministry of Higher Education aligned with the enforcement of Undi18.

All classes and student activities during that period also should be postponed and held on another date.

He added that the circular had been issued to all public and private institutions of higher learning, including polytechnics and community colleges for further action.

Previously, the Election Commission (EC) announced that the 15th General Election has been set for 19 November 2022 (Saturday). ***
