Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan Foundation sponsors iftar

GOMBAK, 22 July 2014: Nearly 2,000 people consisting of IIUM staffs and students attended a grand iftar at the Main Hall, Cultural Activity Centre, last night, sponsored by the Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan Foundation, United Arab Emirates.

The iftar, coordinated by the Embassy of United Arab Emirates, was attended by two of the Embassy’s representatives, Mr. Humaid al Tamimi (Administrative attaché) and Mr. Idris Osman (Media Affairs).

Deputy Rector of Academic and Planning, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Md. Tahir Azhar and wife as well as Deputy Rector of Internationalsation, Industry and Community Relations, Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Berghout also made their appearance at the iftar.

According to Mrs. Maswa Mokhti, Senior Assistant Director (Office of the Deputy Rector of Internationalisation, Industry and Community Relations), this is the second consecutive year the Foundation has sponsored an iftar for the IIUM community.

A short yet insightful tazkirah (lecture) was delivered by Director of Corporate Communication Division, Dato’ Hamidon Abd Hamid prior to the breaking of the fast.
