GOMBAK, 14 August 2022: The second session of the International Islamic University Malaysia’s (IIUM) 37th Convocation saw a total of 594 graduands from three distinguished Kulliyyahs – Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Law (AIKOL), Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS), and Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) – receiving their master’s degree.
The 37th Convocation was held on Saturday (13 August) at the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) at 2.30 pm.
The honourable IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, expressed his pride towards the graduands in his speech.
“We feel very proud that you have made it despite the many challenges not only in terms of academics but also the challenges of life,” he said on behalf of the university.
He also thanked the graduands for striving, persevering, and remaining steadfast to their mission and their commitment to the university.
“Those are the values that we have been trying to nurture and we think this is something that will allow us to grow even greater as time goes on particularly now that you have got your success and your degree with you,” he added.
For graduates from Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Law and Kulliyah of Economics and Management Sciences, the Rector hoped that they continue to shine as they moved forward since many of the distinguished alumni came from these kulliyah.
Meanwhile, he also pointed out to the graduates from Kulliyah of Education, that education is the core business since the university will not be what it is right now without the Kulliyah of Education. He hoped that this kulliyah will lead on in trying to make meaning of what the future of education is all about.
He ended his speech by congratulating and recognizing the efforts of the parents, family, and friends who had been helping the graduands in their studies moving ahead.

- Muhammad Azly Haziq bin Sazali (Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Law)
- Sinam Chem Bas (Harun M. Hashim Law Centre)
- Mohd Ireruwan bin Mohamed (Kulliyah of Education)
The ceremony ended with Sinam Chem Bas from Harun. M. Hashim Law Centre delivered his valedictorian speech and the President of IIUM, Tan Sri Samsudin Osman declared the graduands as the official alumni of IIUM.***
