Public transportation services Malaysia-S’pore to resume from 1 April

By Shereen Saleem

PETALING JAYA, 29 March 2022: Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong announced that by 1 April all public transportation services between Malaysia and Singapore will resume as both countries are set to lift land border restrictions between each other, according to The Star report.

This new policy will include all kinds of public transport vehicles in the relevant countries including worker buses, express buses, tourist buses, taxis. etc., on condition that those travelling are fully vaccinated.

However, Wee warned travellers from Singapore to ensure that they have the MySejahtera installed on their phones, have already registered for a foreign vehicles entry permit (VEP), and to ensure they meet all of pre-travel conditions prior to travelling.

“Failure to do so will result in action being taken against the traveller, including compound fines and penalties under existing laws,”  Wee said, referring to what happens if travellers are caught breaking the rules. ***
