242 graduands receive scrolls at final session (16th) of 36th Convo on Sunday

GOMBAK, 21 March 2022: A total of 242 graduands from IIUM Academy, IIUM Centre for Islamisation (CENTRIS), IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF), and Harun M. Hashim Law Centre received their scrolls at the 16th session of 36th Convocation Ceremony at IIUM Cultural Centre Hall on Sunday (20 March).  

During the final session of the convocation ceremony, IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak expressed his hope that the achievements of the graduates would serve as a testament to their perseverance and determination in pursuit of knowledge, as well as the value of this university in enhancing their professional experiences. 

He further stressed that he wants the achievements of the graduates today to propel greater success in ways that benefit not only them but also the university and society as a whole.

The Rector expressed, “The dedications that graduates received from university shall enable them to become not only problem solvers but game changers which bring the Islamic ideas, Islamic perspectives and Islamic solution as an added advantage to what they got today in the world at large.”

Tan Sri Dzulkifli also encouraged students to maintain their success in order to meet the demand of today’s world, which requires individuals with greater knowledge, particularly in the aftermath of the epidemic.

In this session, Best Students from IIUM Academy, CENTRIS, IIiBF and Harun M.Hashim Law Center received their awards. 

The recipients of the Best Students Awards are as follows:

  • Athirah Binti Morni (Diploma in Administration of Islamic Judiciary) – Best Student Overall)
  • Mohd Faizal bin Rosli @ Lim Siow Poh (Diploma in Shariah and Legal Practice) – Best Student Overall
  • Muhammad Mikrajul Haq Bin Azman (Certificate in Islamic Banking and Finance) – Best Student (2020)
  • Liew Sook Yin (Certificate in Islamic Banking and Finance) – Best Student (2021)

The Rector recorded his appreciation for those who contributed to the convocation ceremony under the leadership of the Deputy Rector (Academic and Internationalisation), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Faris Ismail, who worked very hard day and night to make sure the 36th Convocation Ceremony was successful. ***
