GOMBAK, 20 March 2022: There is actually something beautiful out of the hardship that one is going through even though it might just be the tiny part of it, said Nor Athirah Mursyidah Binti Nor Zailan.
She said this when delivering her valedictorian speech representing the graduands of Kulliyyah of Languages and Management at the 14th session of 36th IIUM Convocation Ceremony yesterday (19 March).
“If it wasn’t because of Pagoh, we will not be able to see the life as we see now, we won’t appreciate the time, the good facilities, the luxury of attending class in person, having enough food or even the nature itself,” she said as she recalls the blessings in disguise in experiencing online learning due to COVID-19 pandemic.
“If we see it through different lense, we all managed to find beauty in it as we all know that Allah won’t burden a soul beyond it can bear,” she added.
She further noted that students of IIUM are more than getting formal education as she learned that life is indeed a journey of knowing The Creator. She said that she is forever grateful that her four years of struggles as a student has brought her to learn who is Allah.
In her inspiring speech, she called on the graduands to be individuals who can always see the hikmah in everything and being grateful even for the slight things in life.
“I hope we will never forget the silent contributions and prayers from people around us,” she added.
The speech ended with her expressing her gratitude to her family and to the respective lecturers as well as congratulating all graduands and their families.***
