GOMBAK, 18 March 2022: Despite having to complete 157 credit hours throughout the study period alongside active participation in co-curricular activities, Mohamad Ihsan bin Ahmad Fuzi successfully graduated from Kulliyyah of Pharmacy with Overall Best Student Award.

Mohamad Ihsan, who received his scroll at the 12th session of the 36th IIUM Convocation yesterday, shared that there was always a sacrifice to be made for every success.

He was the president of Professional Huffaz Club IIUMK from 2018 to 2019. Among other society involvement, he actively contributed to the community by becoming an Imam at the Surau nearby.

“Upon graduating from Darul Quran, I felt obligated to serve the community from what I have learned, hence becoming an Imam is a good way.”

“Having many duties to attend to at the same time, I need to manage my time wisely between meetings and time to finish up my assignment,” he added.

He shared that he had to struggle a lot with his studies especially in his second year.

Staying up almost late at night to finish university-related work has become a norm in his study life since his involvement in co-curriculum activities meant he had limited free time.

“After all, I have no regret with the life I choose to have as a student. Well, I am holding on to my principle as a human being who gives benefits to others. I believe Allah SWT will help ease my way,” Mohamad Ihsan told IIUMToday.

Asked about his learning style, he says that each individual has a unique learning style, and for him, the kinesthetics way of learning helped him a lot. He loves moving around while memorising or understanding his subject.

Apart from that, Mohamad Ihsan believes all of his community involvement has helped improve his soft skills and connection with the people.

Mohamad Ihsan encouraged others to strive for blessings from Allah SWT, as the outcome of that action will result in more success and happiness in life.

“Take good care of our relationship with the Creator, our lecturer, and others. May we find the success, the ultimate success in which it is not only on paper but the true happiness we receive from doing good,” he said.

Mohamad Ihsan currently works as a pharmacist officer at Yan Hospital, Kedah.***
