GOMBAK, 17 March 2022 : The 9th session of 36th Convocation Ceremony held on Wednesday (16 March) at ICC Hall witnessed a total of 394 graduates from AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS) receiving their scrolls.

In his speech at the session, IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, said that IIUM has a very unique path in education that is loaded with values and wisdom, as such graduates must demonstrate these values.

“The curricula for this Kulliyyah have been designed in such a balanced manner that provide not just the worldly knowledge but also the knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah,” he highlighted.

Giving advice to those who received their scrolls at the session, the Rector called on Communication graduates to demonstrate to the public how to communicate with values, compassion, empathy, and sympathy instead of using offensive remarks and harsh words.

For graduates from History and Civilisation, he reminded them to utilise their knowledge and implement it as much as possible in order to lead the new world towards Rahmatan Lil Al-amin.

He added that Political Science graduates should enthusiastically lead the way in replacing the corrupt political ecosystem that drives society and nations all over the world.

And to those who specialise in knowledge of Sociology and Anthropology, the Rector called on them to actively offer solutions to human problems in ensuring social, economic, physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing.

The Rector wished all graduates be given mental and spiritual strengths to deal with the challenges of life ahead.***
