GOMBAK, 16 March 2022: Muhammad Danial Bin Nor Azman and Mawar Mutiara Binti Abdul Razak, expressed their relief for having a proper closure for the chapter of their studies despite the graduation ceremony was put on hold for two years.

Both are graduates in Human Sciences (English Language and Literature) from AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS), and they received their scrolls today at the 10th session of IIUM’s 36th Convocation ceremony.

Danial and Mawar are listed in the Rector’s List Award for their outstanding academic achievement.

They both gave credit to their parents for their success and considered them as the biggest motivation in finishing their four years of bachelor’s journey.

According to Mawar, her parents have never been the type to push her to have the best grades or results. Instead, they would always advise her to give her best, especially in knowing what she actually wants in life so that she will find light heading towards success.

Meanwhile, Danial believed that other than parents, friends also have become his support system who made his studies journey worth it along the way.

“Without my friends, I do not think I will be able to finish the four years of my studies because it was actually a difficult journey physically and mentally. Therefore, having my friends here together for all these years had made it easier,” he expressed.

Danial also reckoned that being an IIUM undergraduate has opened up the gateway to the variety of cultures on account of the multiple facets of background that students have which inspired him to explore new things out there.

Sharing their own experience, both Danial and Mawar surmised that their success in the journey of studies is pivoted on good relationship with lecturers, staying focused in class, as well as staying committed particularly in group assignments.

“There are times where we are just not in our best condition. And to stay focused on what we are doing would be the main challenge. Therefore, keep staying in the lane though we tend to get distracted,” Mawar remarked.

Besides being successful in academics, Danial and Mawar have set up different future plans after graduation.***
