GOMBAK, 15 March 2022: The International Institute for Muslim Unity (IIMU) plans to hold its first seminar for undergraduate students’ research at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

The seminar titled ‘International Seminar for Young Researchers” on the theme “addressing contemporary social issues” is aimed at providing a platform for undergraduates to share their research findings with their peers, lecturers, and the community at large.

This seminar is also intended to underscore the challenges of the current social issues from the perspective of the undergraduates of IIUM. At the same time, the seminar hopefully would inspire more young students to undertake social research.

The head of the organising committee for this seminar, Dr. Homam Al-Tabaa said, “Undergraduates form the backbone of this university, and research is one of the most essential functions of any university.

However, you don’t find many undergraduates publishing research despite their daily involvement in academic activities. Hopefully, this seminar will encourage more young undergraduates to conduct research and be more involved in their communities.”

The event will be held on 17 March 2022 and will be broadcast to IIMU Youtube Channel.

IIMU plans to hold similar events every semester for undergraduate researchers.
