KIRKHS doing its bit to raise donation for Gaza

GOMBAK, 21 July 2014: The Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences is doing its bit to ease the sufferings of the Palestinians in Gaza by donating RM13,500, collected from staffs and students of the university, to Aman Palestine.

The Dean of Kulliyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS), Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Zein handed the donation to the Sales Manager of Aman Palestine, Mr. Muhammad Faizal bin Mohd Safri, in a simple ceremony at IIUM today.

The collection for this donation, held in conjunction with the Palestine Solidarity Week, 14 to 20 July, was initiated by IIUM.fm with the support of IIUMToday.

Mr Faizal Safri was delighted and surprised with the amount of donation that was raised. He expressed his appreciation and thanks on behalf of Aman Palestine.

He said the donation will be given to the Emergency Relief project for Gaza whereby all donations collected will be sent directly to the victims.

He added: “We hope this will show Malaysia’s commitment and concerns for the humanitarian cause. It is my hope that all people regardless of race and religion, whether Muslims or non-Muslim, would continue to display their solidarity to the plights of the Palestinians.”

Also present during the ceremony were Head of Communication Department, Dr. Zeti Azreen Ahmad, and IIUM.fm advisor, Dr. Shafizan Mohamed.
