PUTRAJAYA, 17 September 2021: Two young Malaysians, Zenner Poh Jin Chan from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Puay Chai 2, Selangor and Khairrurijal Fahmi Bin Anuar Fikri from Sekolah Kebangsaan Cyberjaya achieved silver in a programme called “ASEAN Cyberkids Camp 2021”.

The programme was held by the Cambodian Post and Telecommunications Ministry on 28 August recently and was participated by eight ASEAN member countries. Each of the country was represented by two students who are from the age of 7-12 and two tutors.

Zenner and Khairrurijal were assigned to build and create a multimedia programming project by using scratch online application with the theme ˜Technologies Save Lives During COVID-19 Pandemic.

The programme was introduced by Malaysia in 2018 as it is an initiative under inaugural ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN1) and was virtually hosted by KKMM on 21 and 22 January earlier this year. Furthermore, the programme will now be an annual event that will be organised by ASEAN member countries on a rotation basis as it aims to disseminate knowledge on information and communication technology (ICT) among students.

Communication and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) hoped that the achievements made by Malaysia this year in the ASEAN Cyberkids Camp would act as a catalyst to boost students interest in the field of ICT and henceforth, encourage them to learn more about it. This is crucial as it would help and ease the process of our countrys digitalisation. ***
