KUALA LUMPUR, 13 September 2021: Nazim Azman of Malaysia managed to clinch a win at the EuroFormula Open at the Red Bull Ring in Austria yesterday. A first for the Malaysian.

Crypto Tower Racing, which is Nazim’s racing team, managed to end in sixth place in the first three races on the day of the event before sealing the win in the second race later that evening.

Nazim finished the race in 34 minutes 0.256 seconds, followed by Turkish Cem Bolukbasi of Van Amersfoort Racing which finished 0.732s behind. Meanwhile, Nazim’s teammate Louis Foster of Great Britain came in third at 34:2.250s.

“Obviously a good start, number one. It was quite hard to be fair, Cem Bolukbasi was very quick. And then I think the main thing was not to make any mistakes, and it paid off. It was good, because Foster had a battle as well with Cameron, so it just left me and Cem alone. Overall, really happy with the result,” Nazim stated.

The third race at the Red Bull Ring concluded later that night which saw Nazim finishing in fourth place.

As the race ended in the Red Bull Ring circuit, Nazim placed fourth overall  in the championship accumulating 208 points as Cameron Das led with 273 points, followed by Louis Foster with 272 points and Team Motorpark racer Jak Crawford of the USA in third with 244 points.

The remaining two rounds of the season will be held in Monza (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain) respectively.

Nazim’s achievement was also tweeted by the Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu who applauded his achievement.

“Nazim Azman from the Crypto Tower team won his first series in the Euroformula race in the Red Bull Ring, Austria. Congratulations !! #malaysiaberbangga,” he said.

The remaining two rounds are scheduled to take place on 25 to 26 September and on 23 to 24 October.***
