Mattering what matters, a series of #youmatter: “The Unseen Pain”

GOMBAK, 8 July 2021: It is hard to stay at our best when everything is happening all at once especially during this pandemic and ODL learning that it has become a challenge to make sure our mental health is at its fullest potential.

As an initiative, the Council of Principals (COPs), Counselling and Career Services Centre (CCSC) and IIUMtv will be organising a weekly series titled #youmatter and it will start this week with a topic called “The Unseen Pain”.

The event will be held today (8 July) starting from 9 p.m until 10 p.m and it will be broadcast live on IIUMtv YouTube channel featuring two speakers related to this field, Madam Khairiah Abd Razak, a clinical psychologist, and Danial Afiq, a depression survivor.

With the objective of providing a platform for the students to share their stories and express their feelings in order to release the stress, the event is open to everyone, especially the IIUM community. Star points will be provided for IIUM students.

This event is also in collaboration with, IIUM.fm, IIUMToday, Office of Communication, Advocacy and Promotion (OCAP), Islamic Revealed Knowledge Students’ Society (IRKHSSS) Kulliyyah of Language and Management Students’ Society (KLMSS), Bachelor of Education Students’ Society (BEDSA), Allied Health Science Students’ Society (HEALS) and Secretariat of Psychology (PSYCSTA).
