GOMBAK, 8 April 2021: The candidate for Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) constituency for the IIUM Student Union election, Wan Nur Adawiyah binti Wan Azmi, promised to bring greater attention on the issue of employability and marketability of graduating students.

Wan Nur Adawiyah had won the seat uncontested in the Election when the results were announced last Sunday (4 April).

In a Speaker’s Corner session streamed live on YouTube by IIUM’s Bachelor of Education Students’ Association (BEDSA) on Tuesday (6 April), Wan Nur Adawiyah clarified that her manifesto is based on her mission to provide job opportunities for students and to build a strong connection with other universities and the industry.

Wan Nur Adawiyah, a third-year Islamic Education student further advocated her manifesto to augment KOED students’ marketability.

Focusing on programmes for final year students, she clarified that the initiative will be a collaboration between the students and KOED alumni through alumni wing.

Wan Nur explained that she plans to establish a ‘Teaching Aid Room’ that can provide essential resources for KOED students and for them to gain understanding of the reality of being a teacher.

“The room is like a gallery where Bahan Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran (PdP) or Teaching and Learning Aid and Bahan Bantu Mengajar (BBM) or Teaching Aid Material will be displayed and can be accessed by the students for free,” she added.

The 40-minute Speaker’s Corner session was moderated by Nurul Arifah Rashid, the President of BEDSA 20/21.

The session can be viewed online on BEDSA’s Youtube.***
