COVID-19 Updates: 1,196 new cases today with 997 new recoveries

GOMBAK, 27 December 2020 – Malaysia today recorded a total of 1,196 new active cases of COVID-19 with Selangor being the highest with a total of 392 cases.

From yesterday’s report, the recovery today has increased with a number of 997 cases free of COVID-19. This brings the cases of recoveries to 84,411 so far.

According to the Ministry of Health, the overall total confirmed cases are 105,096 and 20,233 cases are still active. 

Top three clusters with a high number of cases are Tampoi Jaya, Johor with 78 new cases, Tapak Bina Jalan Stadium with 63 new cases, and Beringin with 30 new cases as of today. 

The Ministry discovered a new cluster from workplace which involves Tawau and Kelabakan district in Sabah. The index cases for this cluster was reported positive COVID-19 after symptomatic individual screening on 20 December.

Until today, 26 individuals were screened and 14 of the cases were reported positive in this new cluster. 

Dr. Noor Hisham asserted that the war against COVID-19 is not over yet, and people should continue practising COVID-19 protocols to protect themselves and others around them.

If one ought to go out, there should be strictly no body contact, and greet people with a hand on chest.***
