GOMBAK, 25 December 2020: A total of 1,247 new COVID-19 cases including two imported cases were recorded as of noon today, bringing the current number of active cases to 18,576 and total confirmed cases to 101,565.
Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah reported that Selangor recorded the highest number with 461 cases followed by Sabah with 225 cases and Johor, 205 cases.
Three new deaths were reported, taking the cumulative COVID-19 death toll for the country to 449 so far.
“As of today, a total of 108 individuals are being treated in the hospital intensive care unit (ICU), with 47 of them under respiratory assistance,” Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham said.
Additionally, Dr. Noor Hisham disclosed a total of 1,441 positive cases of COVID-19 have recovered and discharged today, adding to the total number of discharged and recovered cases to 82,540 cases.
In a statement today, it was also reported of detection of four new COVID-19 clusters. The four new clusters that emerged are namely Kiara construction cluster and Perkasa construction cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Cassia Diamond cluster in Selangor, and Pompod cluster in Sabah. ***
