COVID-19 update: 1,220 new cases, 3 deaths and Selangor leading at 368

GOMBAK, 17 December 2020: Malaysia today recorded 1,220 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths making a total of 14,671 active cases, and total death stood at 432.

From the cases reported today, six were imported with Selangor leading at 368 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 297 cases, and Sabah 184 cases.

Sarawak reported nine new cases after four days of no cases reported. Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that six of the new cases are from Sibu, two from Kuching and one case reported in Sri Aman.

According to Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, the 14,671 active cases are currently being treated.

On the other hand, there are 1,297 new recovered cases reported today bringing the total number of recovery cases to 74,030.

The public have been advised to always follow the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government especially for those who are planning to go back to their hometown as the weekend is approaching.***
