COVID-19 update: 1,229 new cases, four deaths

GOMBAK, 13 December 2020: Malaysia today recorded a total of 1,229 new COVID-19 cases two of which are imported cases and four new deaths bringing the cumulative total number of active cases at 13,667 and total deaths at 415.

According to Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, six new clusters were identified today which are Hujung Pasir Cluster (Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan), Lestari Cluster (Selangor and Kuala Lumpur), Desa Idaman Cluster (Johor), Tapak Bina Rimbun Cluster (Negeri Sembilan), Tanjung Suria Cluster (Selangor) and Kuala Cluster (Pahang).

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 435 new cases, followed by Sabah with a recorded number of 333 new cases.

Nevertheless, 1,309 patients recovered today bringing the total number of recovered patients to 69,393.

Meanwhile, 115 patients are being treated at intensive care unit (ICU), with 65 of them requiring ventilator support, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement.***
