IIUM signs MoU with NSTP

BANGSAR 10 July 2014: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and the New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad was signed today paving the way for collaboration in education, research and industry training.

The MoU was signed by IIUM Rector, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin and the Chief Executive Officer of NSTP, Mr. Mohammad Azlan Abdullah.

The MoU between these two institutions allow them to collaborate in a number of areas, which include training for students and staffs, internship programme, access to both parties’ libraries, as well as research collaboration, and many more.

“The collaboration between the industry and the academic world has always been an important agenda for us because we believe that by working together, we eventually become a powerful engine for innovation and economic growth,” Prof. Dato’ Seri Dr. Zaleha said.

Also present at the signing ceremony were IIUM Deputy Rector (Internationalisation & Industry and Community Relations), Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Berghout, Group Managing Editor of NSTP, Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid, and former IIUM Rector, Prof. Dato’ Seri Dr. Syed Arabi Idid.
