Postgraduate Students’ Iftar with CPS Dean

GOMBAK, 9 July 2014: The Postgraduate Students Society (PGSS) under the auspices of the Centre for Postgraduate Studies (CPS) organized an iftar programme to celebrate the month of fasting and taqwa, Ramadhan 1435 A.H. The event was held in front of the Sultan Ahmad Shah (SHAS) Mosque. About 300 postgraduate students participated in the event.

The Dean of CPS, Prof. Dr. Ratnawati Mohd Asraf began the event with a welcoming remark and said that the iftar is actually to strengthen the ukhuwah (bond) between postgraduate students, staffs of CPS as well as the postgraduate administrators from each Kulliyyah.

The Dean stressed that the “PG students are part of CPS family and part of the University family as well the Muslim Ummah”.  She also welcomed the PG students to CPS office for any assistance that they may require.

Among those who attended the iftar were Deputy Director of CENTRIS, Assoc. Prof Dr. Hazizan Md Noon and Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Research) Kulliyyah of Economic and Management Science, Dr. Azura Omar.

The emcee also introduced and welcomed the newly appointed Deputy Dean, Dr Adlina Hj. Ariffin to the CPS and PGSS family.

A brief tazkirah related to the blessing month of Ramadhan was delivered by the invited speaker, Dr. Abdul Hamid Mohamed Ali Zaroum from Kulliyyah of IRKHS. He reminded the participants to increase their ibadah, as it’s the month to focus on worship of Allah SWT and a month  to increase good deeds and to be aware of hardship and suffering of others.
