KUANTAN, 19 August 2020: IIUM staff must participate actively in all disciplines and focus on their expertise including teaching, research, administration, counselling or even sports among the academicians, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak said during his session with the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy (KOP), on Tuesday (18 August).
The Rector urged the IIUM community to set an agenda in their working life and strive on the achievements that can be made by stretching the target in order to move further.
According to the Dean of KOP, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Che Suraya Hj. Mohd. Zin, the Kulliyyah’s mission and vision are in line with the university’s vision and mission and they cover all aspects including teaching, learning, research and community engagement.
The Dean commented that the Kulliyyah is committed to support the new dimension of IIUM by focusing on Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
She said, “KOP has various projects which bring the evidence of working beyond the academics and to use the expertise in building up the community.”
“Among the projects are Substance Use Disorder project which we will collaborate with Cure and Care Rehabilitation Centre (CCRC) and National Anti Drugs Agency (NADA) to improve the quality of their life,” Dr. Che Suraya added.
Meanwhile, the Rector handed over the certificate on ‘Quit Smoking’ campaign under Sustainable Smoke-free Campus flagship programme to six IIUM staff. The certificate is a symbol that the recipients are now free from tobacco in their daily lives.***
