KIWF donates funds to help IIUMMC obtain respiratory aids

KUANTAN, 5 April 2020: The Khadijah International Waqf Foundation (KIWF) has donated a total of RM150,000.00 to the International Islamic University Malaysia Medical Centre (IIUMMC) for purchase of respiratory aids.

The donation was made through the Director of KIWF, Hjh. Rohani Binti Datuk Hj. Mohd Shahir to buy ventilators and monitor displays for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) IIUMMC in the form of endowment.

The donation is inclusive of 350 bottles of hand sanitisers and 2,500 units of face masks to be used by health officers including other front liners.

According to the Director of IIUMMC, Assoc. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamed Saufi Awang, the hospital was grateful and expressed its gratitude to KIWF for the donation. He said this kind of contribution will be a bridge in helping needy people continuously.

“Contributions given by KIWF is very timely as it will give great benefits to patients in need of respiratory aid in the ICU of IIUMMC,” he added.

KIWF is an endowment charity body established under the Section 107, Labuan Islamic Financial Services and Securities Act 2010 which also channels endowment funds contributed by generous parties to those in need.

This endowment project is in line with IIUM Rector’s aspiration that often gives ideas on the importance of endowment to be practiced and nurtured by society. ***
