GOMBAK, 21 March 2020: A Gift Bag Donation drive was launched by Alumni Relations Division on Thursday (19 March) to help students who are staying in campus during the period of Control Movement Order (CMO) from 18 until 31 March as announced by Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday (16 March) to contain the outbreak of Covid-19.
The donation drive was aimed particularly to help students who are staying in campus as not everyone can afford to go back and be with their family during this crucial period.
In less than 48 hours following the launching of the donation drive, the university’s Alumni Relations Division had managed to collect RM99,750.00.
Each of the gift bag will have a value of RM15 and will be filled with dry food such as instant noodles, biscuits and Milo.
A total of 3,000 gift bags will be delivered to the students starting on Monday (23 March). Working with cooperation of the Principals of Mahallah on the distribution, students will be able to collect the gift bag from their respective Mahallah office between 2.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m.
Due to the overwhelming support received, the Alumni Relations Division has already arranged for a second delivery and they plan this time to provide antibacterial shower cream as it is very important for the students to keep good hygiene during this pandemic.
