GOMBAK, 4 March 2020: A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on developing a flood warning system was signed on Tuesday (3 March) between the Rector of IIUM, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Juah Corporation, Dato’ Zul Azhari Mohamed Juah.
The signing ceremony took place at Conference Room, Rector’s Office.
Juah Corporation Sdn. Bhd, an engineering company that specialises in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Telemetry System, proudly announced that they are cooperating with IIUM in developing a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) incorporating the latest communication technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and security named SCARLET, an acronym for Secure Cloud Based IoT for Flood Alert.
This technology incorporating an IoT technology in RTU is one of the first in the market. With this SCARLET project, it will be among the pioneer in developing this technology.
The mission and vision of the project are to enhance Malaysian technology and to produce IoT RTU not only to cater for the local demand but also for the international market.
At the same time, the CEO of Juah Corporation, Dato’ Zul Azahari Mohamed, also expressed his highest appreciations and gratitude to all related parties who have contributed their time and effort for the realisation and success of project SCARLET.
The collaboration will prove that industry and the academia will be able to serve the community better if they work together.
Also present at the ceremony were the CEO of IIUM Holdings, Dato’ Naharudin Ali and the Dean of Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT), Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Abdul Rahman. ***
