Parallax exhibition on heritage of Hanoi and Sarawak, 25 to 28 February

GOMBAK, 25 February 2020 – The PARALLAX 14th Heritage and Contemporary Studies (HCS) Exhibition of Sarawak and Hanoi was launched today by IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus. Tan Sri Dato Dzulkifli Abdul Razak together with the Dean of Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), Prof. Ar. Dr. Abdul Razak Sapian.

The launching ceremony held at KAED Auditorium saw the presence of representatives of other organisations including the National Craft Institute, Gombak vocational college, National Museum of Malaysia and Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers.

Parallax 14th HCS Exhibition of Sarawak and Hanoi is intended to portray the heritage and significance of arts from each state. It also exhibits the work of arts and projects by the students.

The programme manager of Parallax Hanoi, Yusfariq Iqmal Yuslan said, “Since Malaysia and Vietnam are under the umbrella of the Asian countries, we want to see if there are any similarity in heritage and arts between the two countries.”

Meanwhile, Muhd Saifullah Zaba who is the programme manager of Parallax Sarawak added, “We also compare the different arts and cultures between Sarawak and Hanoi. The comparison of arts is within the five scopes that include architecture, stone work, textile, metal work and wood work.”

The exhibition will be held at the Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) from 25 February until 28 February 2020 from 9a.m to 6p.m.

All students, staff members of the university and campus community are welcome to visit the exhibition, according to the organiser. ***
