KUALA LUMPUR, 9 January 2020 “The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) received the Al-Khawarizmi Education Industry Excellence award and two individual awards during the Islamic Excellence Award Night ceremony 1441H/2019M, organised by Majlis Dakwah Negara (MDN) in collaboration with Malaysian Association of ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs (MAAYE), held at Royale Chulan Hotel here on Tuesday (7 January).
The Al-Khawarizmi Education Industry Excellence award is given to the education institute that excels in educational development and education institutes which use technology to uphold and affirm the world of Islamic education at the international level.
IIUM Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak received the award from the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah.
The rector said this success marks the beginning of the year 2020 that has gained cooperation of all IIUM members.
œThis award serves to boost the morale amongst IIUM members in 2020 to achieve excellence and cooperate in allowing this university to become a leader in various fields, in line with the university’s motto ‘Leading the Way’,” he said.
Apart from this award, IIUM received the individual award Al-Ghazali Scholar of the Year, which was received by Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Kamal Hassan, and the Ibn Ishaq al-Kindi Intellectual Scholar award, that was received by Shaikh al-Kulliyyah, International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC-UIAM), Prof. Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar.
The ceremony witnessed 16 awards given to fellow receivers. ***
