GOMBAK, 5 December 2019: Work-life balance among workers should be practised by every company in Malaysia, said the manager in talent acquisition and branding of KPMG Malaysia, Zetty Ozleen.

He said this during a talk titled “Interesting Career with KPMG” held on Tuesday (3 December) at Main Auditorium, IIUM.

The talk was organised under a four-day finishing school programme “Fly High 7.0” which provided a platform for IIUM graduating students to build connections with potential employers.

The main objective of the talk was to expose students, especially students of Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) and Kulliyyah of Engineering, regarding perks and benefits in working with professional services firm, KPMG.

KPMG Malaysia is a firm that provides professional services in audit and tax advisory across various industries including government, non-government and not-for-profit sectors.

The main purpose of KPMG is to “Inspire Confidence and Empower Change” not only towards their clients but for their workers in KPMG.

The representative speaker from KPMG, Anil Nair said, “KPMG has conducted several activities among workers as one of the efforts in creating healthy and balanced working environment.”

“Some activities involved sports include Inter-Accounting Firm Games (IAFG) held on a yearly basis. The indoor and outdoor sports involving healthy competition between the “Big Four” accounting firms in Malaysia consist of KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY) and Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC)”.

“Besides building engagement between other companies and promoting healthy lifestyle, this event is also one of the ways in supporting KPMG workers’ passion in sports.”

IIUM Students were encouraged to apply for KPMG Ambassadorship Programme as IIUM was selected to be one among the 10 flagship universities to support the programme.

The Ambassadorship Programme is a one-year internship programme that provides opportunities for students to learn more about specifics of working in KPMG.

The programme manager of Fly High 7.0, Nur Aiman Najiha Binti Azman said, “Even if KPMG is an accounting company, students from other field of studies can also discover their talent by joining this company.
