“Multitasking key to achieving more”- IIUM President

GOMBAK, 29 November 2019: In order to be excellent in multiple aspects, multitasking is the key, emphasised IIUM President, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar in “The Amin Idris Show” for a special slot “Inspirasi”.

Dato’ Dr. Mohd Daud who is also the Chairman of Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia, said, “Multitasking can be carried out in numerous aspects of life – reading, thinking, timing and many more.

This ensures that an individual can be multitasking, therefore, developing a figure that owns multi-personality,” he added.

Currently reading 1001 Inventions: The Enduring Legacy of Muslim Civilization (written by Salim T. S. al-Hassani), The Tipping Point (written by Malcolm Gladwell), a book written by Jack Ma, a book revealing on history of TED TALK, several books explaining on Maqasid Syariah and more.

“Multi-reading is highly significant in shaping an individual to analyse problems in bigger perspective. Multiple reading undeniably can create an intensity of knowledge, thus, assisting to create better solution,” he said.

In addition to that, he shared three “don’ts” for better time management. “Firstly, do not manage time, but do manage yourself; when a management of an individual is right, automatically, the time will be right. Secondly, do not think to allocate time, but do think to avoid wasting time. Thirdly, do not handle time, but do create time.”

Dr. Mohd Daud further stressed, “I hope all IIUM students, especially leaders, learn the art of multitasking to achieve more.” ***
