Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar, in his speech, expressed that the year 2019 will be forever be known as a historic and prestigious year to the university as the 35th IIUM Convocation Ceremony was preceded by the proclamation of Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong as the Constitutional Head of IIUM by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The President also praised the graduands for their perseverance and resilience in finishing their studies as most of them are working professionals from various different organisations and institutions. He further said, “Education is the best investment one can make.”

The university has produced a total of 5,443 graduates, with 1,128 students graduating from postgraduate programmes and 4,315 students from undergraduate studies. This term has also seen graduands of over 70 nationalities with a grand sum of 973 international students.***
