BUDI community engagement programme all set for Saturday

GOMBAK, 22 November 2019: In an effort to foster community engagement between Kampung Sungai Chinchin and IIUM, committee members of the programme “Bengkel Usahawan Digital ber- Inovatif (BUDI)” were at Sungai Chinchin today to set up the venue for tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) big day.

According to the tentative programme prepared, there are going to be four sessions for tomorrow’s event.

Session one will be a talk by Assistant Professor from the Department of Finance, Dr. Norazizan Che Embi in the topic of introducing business methods and ethics.

Session two will also be a talk on how to do marketing and promotion online by the owner of AHZ Enterprise, Mr. Ahmad Hilman Bin Zuhairi.

Session three is going to be a forum of which the panelists are going to be Mr. Rafidy Abd Rani and Madam Nor Azian Zahri, owners of Dyan Avenue Boutique.

The final session will be a product simulation exercise named “#sayajual” which is organised by the BUDI committee themselves.

The Programme Manager of Bengkel Usahawan Digital ber- Inovatif (BUDI), Najmi Syahiran Mamat expressed his thoughts on the event. He said, “We are in the middle of preparing the venue for participants to listen to the digital marketing talks. The progress so far is good, with the aim to accommodate the participants.”

He also mentioned about an approximate figure of 40 participants who are expected to benefit from this workshop.

“The goal is to introduce the concept of digital marketing to the Sungai Chinchin community’s B40 group and youth to educate and create awareness to them about the importance of having business skills in this digital era. It is also to empower their skills in the booming days of online business and marketing,” he added.

BUDI is a community engagement programme in collaboration with the Centre for Islamic Economics (CIE) of IIUM. The programme is aimed at educating the community’s B40 group with online business skills, ethics as well as marketing and promotion.

The event will commence at 7:30 a.m on Saturday and end at 4:30 p.m.***
